We welcome you to Classical Image, a website in progress where you will soon find a selection of visually impactful greeting cards to purchase for almost any occasion. Our mission is to research and make available the work of artists who may not be familiar to you, but whose work transcends time to speak to us today. Take a break from being plugged in. Play, write something profound or let the beauty of a timeless image speak for you. Find a new way to connect.

Our first featured artist, Edmund Dulac (1882-1953) created delightful art in the Golden Age of Illustration. Don Dixon, our resident artist, discovered in Dulac’s work  an aesthetic sense and meticulous attention to composition that matches his own in astronomical art. Don has lovingly renewed Dulac's illustrations for the creation of our cards.

The selection of twenty-four of Dulac’s illustrations, out of hundreds, was a dream; so many beautiful images to choose from.  Anna Dixon, Classical Image’s creator, brings her own sensibility to the task. A native of Southern California influenced by her Latin American heritage, appreciation of diverse cultures, and experience raising three children in Long Beach, Anna has spent countless hours walking the card aisles at local stores, looking for just the right card.

We hope you’ll revisit us once we’ve unveiled our first collection of greeting cards in June, 2011.
